Firmware update rant

My pedals are mounted in a cockpit system, so of course the USB controller box is underneath the pedal mounting plate and accessible enough to plug/unplug the cable, but that's about it for access. Now, to update the firmware I am required to depress a little button on the controller box and simultaneously re-plug the PC USB cable. This task is beyond any contortion within my capabilities.

Who at Heusinkveld thought this was a good design, and are they still employed there?
