Loss of FFB Detail in Le Mans Ultimate on VR

Hello everyone, I’m experiencing an issue with a loss of detail in the Force Feedback (FFB) when playing Le Mans Ultimate on VR.

Here are my equipment and setup details:

  • Wheel: Simucube 1 (IONI board), overall strength set to 100%.
  • Headset: Lenovo Explorer for VR.
  • FPS Configuration: 90 FPS locked in VR. (The lock comes from the VR)
  • Telemetry tools: DAMPlugin and rFactor2SharedMemoryMapPlugin64, analyzed using MoTeC i2.

The issue occurs when I lock the FPS to 90 in VR. Under these conditions, the FFB seems to lose critical details such as small oscillations and torque variations, which reduces steering feedback response. I conducted comparisons in different scenarios:

  1. VR (90 FPS locked): The feedback feels smoother and less detailed, as if filtered or limited by an update rate.
  2. Monitor (unlocked FPS): The feedback is much more detailed, with faster, more precise responses that accurately reflect track conditions.

I used telemetry data in MoTeC to visualize these differences, as shown in the attached graphs.
Here are the key observations:

  • Graph 1: Comparison of FFB Output in VR (blue) and monitor (white).
  • Graph 2: Steering Shaft Torque shows fewer torque variations in VR.
  • Graph 3: G Force Lat is consistent across both sessions, but FFB in VR doesn’t reflect these variations as well.

I’m seeking advice on how to resolve this issue. Could it be related to synchronization between FPS and physics/FFB updates? If anyone has experienced something similar or has suggestions for adjustments, I’d greatly appreciate your input.

Thank you!
